Initial Setup

Initial setup of the FD Administration Service Tree can only be performed by M*Modal Operations, at this time. Updates to the Service Tree can be performed through FD Administration.

Reccomended Browsers

The FD Administration website performs best when used in Google Chrome.  Mozilla FireFox is also supported.  Internet Explorer should also work, but has the below setup steps required first.

Internet Explorer

When an administrator wants to view/edit settings such as Dictionary for a user or a group, they must be logged into Fluency Direct. Now, in order for FD Administration to sync up with Fluency Direct the following settings must be ensured in Internet Explorer (IE).

To enable the “Display Mixed Content,” Go to Tools > Internet Options. Select the Security tab and choose the Internet Zone.

Click the Custom level button below to bring up the Settings window. Scroll down to the Display Mixed Content option, located under Miscellaneous. Select Enable and click OK to save your changes.

Pop-Up Blocker

There could be a potential issue that users may experience, due to set up configurations of their web browser and associated pop-up blocker that prevents being able to export from the FD Administration. Be sure to do the following:

  • Go to Tools > Pop-up Blocker. Select the option to Turn Off Pop-up Blocker.

FD Admin Published Settings

Run Fluency Direct as an Administrator and log into FD with your Admin account. Then login to FD Administration with the SAME Admin account.

Next, choose the user or group that you want to edit the settings for within FD Administration. Once you do this, you will see the Fluency Direct Control Bar indicate that you are running FD as the selected user or group, Logged Admin (Impersonated User/Group).

  • Alternately, you can create a group in FD Administration. Then click on that group in the Hierarchy tree. Fluency Direct will open in Administration Mode as the GROUP, as opposed to the User. The Fluency Direct Control Bar will then indicate that you are running FD as the selected user or group, Logged Admin (Impersonated User/Group).

From this point, you can add Personalization as needed (Dictionary, Abbreviations, Commands, Mic Settings, Formatting, etc) from the Personalization Menu.

The settings that are modified within Fluency Direct will then be applied to the loaded User/Group that you have selected. When editing Group settings, those changes will be published to any user within that group.
